Our lighting plan: 5 types of lighting that enrich your interior

Lighting is extremely important in your home. It plays a prominent role in the interior of your home, but this is often not properly thought-out and dealt with last. A home without lighting is not conceivable. But think beyond just the functionality! Lighting has a lot of influence on the atmosphere of the entire home and the colors of your furniture. Good lighting can make a world of difference to your current interior.

To find out what kind of lighting you are looking for and what suits you, it is good to figure out beforehand what you want to achieve. Above a dining table, you would want a completely different light than in a corner where you like to read. You can also, for example, highlight a specific object so that attention is drawn to it. For each room, there is an assembly of different lamps to optimally illuminate the room.

Ambient lighting
This is the kind of lighting everyone needs! It is the general lighting in the house that ensures an even distribution of light. This is the functional side of the light so you can find your way around in the dark. This light is often bright and usually comes from a place where it can illuminate the entire room. Consider, for example, ceiling lamps. To optimally benefit from this, you can ensure that your ambient lighting can always be dimmed. This way you can always adjust the atmosphere in the base. With this type of lighting, no atmosphere is created.

Mood lighting
This is an important part of your home. With just ambient lighting, there is a cool and distant atmosphere in the house. Think of mood lighting as an addition to this base. These are not lamps that are absolutely necessary, but you switch them on in addition to your ambient lighting in the evening when you want to create a more intimate atmosphere. Floor lamps and table lamps are perfect examples of mood lighting. This light is diffused and does not brightly shine in your eyes. This is often because it is shielded by a lampshade and the light reaches you through the wall. Make sure that this contains a warm-colored lamp for an optimal effect. Use this to highlight the beautiful corners and create an exciting contrast!

Functional
Functional can quickly sound boring, but do not underestimate this! These are lamps that emit bright light so that you can see what you are doing. This is very useful when, for example, you are sitting at a desk in a dark room. In this fashion, you can continue working comfortably using a desk lamp. Would you like to comfortably read in the living room but are you not alone in this space? Then keep the room cozily lit and use a reading lamp. This is also much better for your eyes so that you are less prone to developing headaches and tension. There is also functional lighting with dimmers so that you can optimally adjust the light to the current situation.

Accent lighting
Unfortunately, this technique is rarely used, while it can take your interior to a completely different level! With this lighting. you illuminate a specific place or object. A good example is a spotlight that highlights your favorite piece of furniture or painting. There are many lamps for sale that have bundled different spots and you can all bend them at different angles by a movable arm. This way, you can take precise control into your own hands. Messy corner? No light! Beautiful vase with flowers? Highlight it! Always combine this lighting with good ambient lighting and mood lighting. If you do not do this, you create a tunnel effect with too sharp contrasts, causing too much tension.

Decorative lighting
This light source has no functional purpose and is purely decorative. We often use it during the holidays! Think of Christmas lights and string lights. These lamps are often of yellow light and do not illuminate the entire room. Christmas lights can sometimes have hundreds of them bundled, but yet you are not blinded by them. It is just a shame that we only use this during the holidays! A nice light cord or a few beautiful (fake) candles can make the room very attractive! Once you have carried out all the steps in this plan and then decorate the room with decorative lighting, the step-by-step plan is complete! You will see that your interior has received a major boost and that the whole house has a much nicer atmosphere.

We are convinced that every home will be beautiful by using this explanation. Which part needs extra attention in your home? Make sure to share this post and inspire your friends and family!
